The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) is a statutory body established under the Pakistan Medical Commission Ordinance, 2020. The PMC shall regulate medical education and practice in Pakistan. The Commission shall be composed of a Chairperson, four Members, and a Secretary. The Chairperson and Members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Government.

The Commission shall have the power to register medical institutions and practitioners, prescribe standards of medical education, grant licenses to practice medicine, and take disciplinary action against errant practitioners. The Commission shall be responsible for ensuring that the people of Pakistan have access to safe, quality medical care. In pursuit of this responsibility, the Commission shall strive to ensure that all medical practitioners in Pakistan are qualified and competent.
